Confined Space

Objectives:

To update and refresh delegates on the legal requirements and best practices during work in confined spaces. Discuss the accepted work practices for Confine Space Entry including atmospheric testing and monitoring methods, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), communication systems and emergency rescue procedures.

Course Content:

This training has both Classroom and Practical instruction elements

  • Current legislation
  • Safe systems of work
  • Management and Supervisory duties as specified within the current regulations
  • Atmospheric testing, monitoring, and deterioration
  • Access requirements/the role of the standby person
  • Use of safety equipment and its deployment within an emergency procedure
  • Self-contained breathing apparatus, theory, and practical
  • Current best practices
  • Practical exercises

Notes:

These courses are written for candidates who are participating in confined space work and have previously complete an initial confined space course or employees who require the full period of novice training.

All delegates are required to have a good understanding of confined space entry and how their company/business prepares for that type of work. Within our training we will also go through documentation that should be used, such as, permits to work and risk assessments.

Due to the style of delivery of this course, delegates must be medically fit and employers are ask to ensure that they only present employees for this training that meet this requirements.
